Purchased a low-emissions car, and only use it when strictly necessary. I walk to the shops and to work.

Switch off appliances, rather than leaving them on standby! Replace front door with a better-fitting one.

Changed light bulbs to energy saving one/ reduce use of washpowder and water by using eco balls for washing clothes/using cold water or washing at 30 degrees. I have dug up the concrete slabs that the previous owners had put in the back garden and we have replaced with lawn and flower beds..will be tackling the concrete front garden this summer....

The report suggested that we buy a low energy dishwasher....which we will...also to reduce the temperature for heating the house....we will continue to monitor this....

Recycling paper. Reducing the amount of packaged food that I buy and trying to buy food produced in the UK.

I am a student and perhaps am not doing enough to encourage my house-mates and landlords to make environmental decisions.
