Removal of some corridor lighting. Using low energy T5 light strips in some offices. Reinstating plastic bottle collection for recycling.

Possible use of low energy T5 light strips in other offices. Give away old IT equipment for recycling (e.g. to scheme at Winchester Prison).

Have now bought a wood burner, which has proved to be excellent We have the hot water in the winter on for only 10 mins in the morning, which is ample for two of us, augmented as it is by the solar panels. In the summer, the solar heating by itself is sufficient

Reduce car travel, increase foot and bike travel.

Changed light bulbs to energy saving one/ reduce use of washpowder and water by using eco balls for washing clothes/using cold water or washing at 30 degrees. I have dug up the concrete slabs that the previous owners had put in the back garden and we have replaced with lawn and flower beds..will be tackling the concrete front garden this summer....

The report suggested that we buy a low energy dishwasher....which we will...also to reduce the temperature for heating the house....we will continue to monitor this....

Work from home 4 out of 5 days per week so very little driving required. Money's far too tight to fly so savings carbon output that way!

Reduced waste by removing bins by desks. Reduced use of paper by emailing invoices by PDF rather than sending through the post.

I would like to speak with other organisations to see how they are reducing their carbon footprints, as we are a small company and although we think we are doing pretty well, I am always up for ideas.

I think the idea of a Winchester District network is an excellent idea. You actually learn more more by sharing ideas and working together between companies on how to reduce your carbon footprint.

Replacing personal diesel car with low emission diesel car to be under 120g co2 emissions. Centralising one printer in Winchester instead of across 2 sites to reduce energy consumption. Purchased new digital press with lower fuser heat which is higher quality than the machine it replaces and uses less energy.

Look at energy consumption and fuel costs with a view to reducing overall energy bill

Become vegetarian, change web hosting to alternative power, switch to ecotricity for power.

There is no way of calculating carbon footprint of other parts of daily lifestyle - eating meat for example is a bigger contributor to climate change than aviation and all the other forms of transport put together if we are really serious about tackling climate change we need to reduce our addiction to eating animals!!!!
