Ice polar bear melts
Artist Mark Coreth has sculpted a polar bear of ice which is melting as negotiators work towards a global climate change deal in Copenhagen.The London Ice Bear is in Trafalgar Square from Friday 11 December. See here for more information.
£500 seed bursary for arts
Winchester Action on Climate Change has joined with Winchester District Council Arts Office to offer a Seed Bursary of £500 to grow the first stage of developing your climate change or sustainability arts project idea.Then you work together with them to fundraise for and deliver a larger-scale project in 2010. To apply, outline your idea on no more than one page of A4 explaining:
- What you would like to do, its timeframe and a breakdown of the overall cost (for the final, larger scale project)
- How your project relates to climate change or sustainability issues in Winchester
- What the project's outcomes will be
- How the seed grant will be spent
Climate Change and the Arts
On 10 June, to celebrate their Tackling Climate Change Beacon award, Eastleigh Borough Council are presenting an afternoon of film, animation, dance, music and stunning imagery to explore the various ways that artists have expressed their thoughts and imagination around the issues of climate change.
