Carbon footprints, carbon offsetting, zero carbon homes - our language and lives are rapidly becoming carbonated. This lecture has some fun looking at how our emissions are calculated and why 'carbon calculators' produce such different results. The relative merits of carbon reduction measures from photovoltaics on the roof, to carbon offsetting your flights will be assessed to see if any of them do what they say on the tin. It is a world in which all is not quite exactly as it seems. Free - all welcome - no ticket required.  For further information see: www.reading.ac.uk/publiclectureseries.
