Saturday, 1 October 2011 - 11:00am to 1:00pm
A celebration of the completion of the mural for Victoria Hall in Sutton Scotney. The project Past Matters has looked at how we have lived in the past to think about a vision for the future. The mural depicts life through the ages in Sutton Scotney and has been designed through images and information gathered at workshops and conversations artist Alex Hoare has had with people who live in the village. Also on display will be photos from the project and artwork from children in the village and other participants in an art workshop.  Alex will give a short presentation about the project at 11.00am.
At 11.30, there will be the opportunity to discuss projects to build on the work of the Past Matters project. There's a lot happening in Sutton Scotney already to preserve the good from the past and create a sustainable future.  These include the setting up of the allotments and the installation of the air-source heat pump in the Victoria Hall and other homes in the village. Join the discussion about projects that people in the village would like to work on together. Helping more people install heat pumps in  homes? Swap-shops of allotment surpluses? Workshops on sustainable living to make friends and learn from other like-minded people? Information about solar panels?  An idea of your own?  Perhaps you can share your experiences with other people who might be interested. You choose the  project. Winchester Action on Climate Change can offer some support.
All welcome. Coffee, tea and cakes. Free admission.
