Tuesday, 4 March 2014 - 2:00pm to 9:00pm

Winchester City Council invite you to comment on the plan to use this car park for a new Extra Care Home. Background Exhibition: 2.00pm – 9.00pm. Workshops: 2.15pm – 5.00pm & 7.00pm – 9.00pm. Walkabout 2.15.

WinACC's view is that any new building must be low carbon, and must help people live a low carbon life.
This location would be withing walking distance to the shops, if the walking routes could be improved.

The Council's invitation letter says:

You are invited to the Chesil Street Community Planning Day to help plan a new Extra Care Home. Winchester has an aging population and the City Council is committed to ensure older people have a choice of accommodation that suits their needs. To help do this they want to provide an Extra Care facility in the
centre of Winchester. Chesil Street surface car park could be a suitable location.

The event will comprise an exhibition (from 2pm to 9pm) setting out thebackground to the proposals, an afternoon walkabout and hands-on planning workshops to identify issues of importance and help the Council decide how to take things forward.

The two workshop sessions are being held in the afternoon and in the evening, to give as many people as possible the chance to participate.
