Robert Nicholls, Professor of Coastal Engineering at the University of Southampton, discusses his research on the issues facing our coasts and their adaptation to climate change, with an emphasis on sea-level rise. Hear about how this research is developing a tool to forecast what the UK's coastline will look like in the future.

The Discovery Lectures, in association with the University of Winchester and the University of Southampton, are intended to engage a general audience with a variety of topics of an academic nature. The lectures take place in the café area of the Discovery Centre, with each lecture lasting between 45 mins and 1 hour followed by a Q&A session.
