Hampshire plans to ban wind farms on council land
HCC make plans to ban wind farms on council owned land
Hampshire County Council have recently published a paper that recommends that large wind turbines and wind farm developments should not be supported by the County Council on council owned land in the countryside. Shockingly the report says that this will have no impact on climate change!
WinACC will be writing to the council to make an objection to this proposal and we urge as many people who feel as we do to do the same.
The report asks the Executive Member, Mel Kendall, to commend Appendix C of the report to be considered by the HCC Buildings, Land and Procurement Panel at its meeting on 18 December, and then by the Executive Member for Policy and Resources at his decision day on 24 January 2013.
If you would like to make an objection to this proposal we suggest you write to Mel Kendal email@example.com and to your local HCC Councillor asking that this policy not be recomended for approval, with a copy to Bryan Boult, the lead officer firstname.lastname@example.org before the meeting on 18 December.
Some suggested wording can be found in the attached draft letter.
