How has the way we live changed? What precious things from the past do we want to preserve? How will climate change affect our lives in the future?

Imagining Here will explore these questions with communities in Winchester District: Sutton Scotney, South Wonston, and Weeke. Local people will discover their past through objects, archival sources and oral history, and work with artists to creatively explore what we can take from the past to create the communities we want in 50 years time.

Artists' workshops that investigate these ideas will be held through the autumn and winter of 2010, culminating in an exhibition at Winchester's Discovery Centre in 2011, and the creation of two legacy artefacts that will remain in Weeke and Sutton Scotney.

If you’d like to be involved in the project we’d love to hear from you. We’re looking for:
  • volunteers to help organise events and workshops (they can live anywhere! And we provide expenses and travel)
  • people who live in the areas who would like to take part in the workshops.
We have held two very successful launch events at Sutton Scotney and Weeke, involving well over 100 people, and have completed archive and oral history training sessions.

As we head towards Christmas we are running a series of workshops that will explore issues of preciousness and what we value. These are:
