Winchester Action on Climate Change (WinACC) and Winchester Churches Together are working to help faith communities in Winchester tackle carbon emission and take up the climate challenge.

Caring for the world we live in is nothing new to members of any community of faith. But the urgent and serious threat of climate change presents a new challenge to us all. Many people want to do something to help, but aren’t sure how. The group is hoping for a wave of awareness and action across all communities of faith and beyond. As key members of the local community, people of different faiths across the Winchester district are being invited to get involved in a number of ways.

One way to get involved to sign up for emails with news of climate change for faith communities. If you want to find out more or get involved in any way please email faith@winacc.org.uk and Jo Crocker, who is co-ordinating this initiative, will get back to you as soon as she can.

Another option is is to take part in Carbon Conversations which run fortnightly for 2 hours for six weeks. These inspiring, practical six-session courses encourage low carbon living in a positive and achievable way. Those taking the course can then go on to lead further conversations within their local community if they wish. New courses starting throughout the year - email faith@winacc.org.uk for details.
