Please make sure that climate change is a high priority for our new MPs and Councillors!

In this crucial year for the future of humanity, we must make it clear to politicians of all parties that there are votes in climate change. They say it's not a subject that people ask them about. So please make sure you do!

 1. Go to your local hustings. If you live in the Winchester and Chandler's  Ford constituency, Churches Together in Winchester is staging a general election hustings at the United Church, Jewry Street on Tuesday 28 April at 7.30pm.  Send questions for the candidates by email to  by Saturday 18 April. Questions may also be posed on the night, but there is a better chance  if you send them in advance.

2. Ask candidates and their canvassers the simple question "What will your party do about climate change?". Print WinACC's handy briefing and keep it by your front door. Use it to help you cross-question canvassers, and take it with you to any event where you have a chance to speak to any candidates. If you want more detail, see our longer briefing.

Hampshire Climate Action Network - which WinACC is part of - have asked all candidates across Hampshire for their views. Almost one in four have already replied. As soon as the results are published after 1 April deadline, we'll let you know.
