Winchester City Council has finished the dialogue process with the two firms remaining in the design competition for the Station Approach area, Design Engine and Hopkins Architects.

The competitors’ ‘best and final offers’ are now due to be received by 11 April. After these are received, the Design Jury will receive a briefing on the competition so far and a tour of the area. The Jury will then meet during the week commencing 25 April to evaluate the proposals.  The two schemes will be exhibited to the public during the week commencing 9 May and the final scores for the competition will be presented to Cabinet on 19 May.

If Cabinet decide to proceed with the scheme in May it is intended that residents will have opportunity to give feedback to the winning architects on their design before the more formal planning consultation stages take place.

The City Council are also working to secure tenants for the office space and will undertake an options appraisal looking at how and by whom the development should be taken forward post planning.
