The SAVE project in Kings Worthy has engaged with a wide range of local people over the last six months about what change they would most like to see in their village. Overwhelmingly, people wanted to see more connectedness within the community, particularly

  • Places - walking and biking in and around the village
  • People – getting more people involved in activities and volunteering in the area
as well as
  • Power – saving energy in homes and community buildings
An action group of members of the community decided on these first actions:

  • A walking project to get more people moving around the village on foot. On 22 July, We want to walk posterroutes between community hotspots will be mapped and checked out for accessibility and ease of use.  This will lead on nicely to a map of shortcuts and estimated route times that will encourage people to take to the streets. There are plans for a treasure hunt around the village in October.
  • A "welcome to the area" leaflet, that will include the map and highlight all the activities and clubs in the village as well as being a valuable resource for services and essential contact numbers.

Everyone is welcome to come along to the event on 22 July (10am - 1pm at  Tubbs Hall, Fraser Road, Kings Worthy, Winchester, SO23 7PJ, It should be fun with plenty of refreshments.
