Parish and Town Councils
Congratulations and welcome to Bishop’s Waltham parish council - the first parish council to join WinACC. We look forward to the others signing up soon. The first ever meeting of parish and town councils in Winchester on climate change was organised by WinACC and Winchester City Council on behalf of the Winchester District Strategic Partnership on 23 April. People from 11 parish councils listed a great many things that parish councillors can do – from cutting the parish’s own energy use to influencing public opinion in their parish by demonstrating their own commitment to tackling the challenge of climate change.

WinACC Features in National Publication
Winchester Action on Climate Change (WinACC) and the University of Winchester feature in a new publication from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). The publication Growing by Degrees is about the future of higher education and is designed to provoke debate about how the sector should develop. It starts from the recognition that universities are part of an international market and that their growth has huge impacts on towns and cities. Growing by Degrees offers twelve future scenarios each projecting twenty years into the future to ask ‘what if’ certain patterns of change take hold.
City Council's Local Development Framework
The Winchester City Council’s Local Development Framework (LDF) Core Strategy will set the ‘spatial strategy’ for the District over the next 20 years and provide ‘strategic’ policies and allocations to deliver the strategy.
