An interesting meeting looking at the supply of wood as a source of power locally. Editor and founder of Woodfuel magazine Danielle Vickers will explore the links between commercial woodfuel and the rural economy, the arguments for and against the harvesting of timber for woodfuel and how it affects the carbon balance.  Tim Jackson, Principal of Sparsholt College and WinACC patron, Michael Ridout, Chair of the Wessex Rural and Farming Network, and David Webb, Chairman of Fieldfare Local Acton Group and Rural Affairs and Tourism Committee policy chair for the Federation of Small Business, will also contribute.

An ideal way for new people to meet like-minded people and find out what's going on in Winchester district. WinACC's Saturday morning open meetings are participative and friendly, with refreshments from 10.

WinACC's regular Saturday meetings discuss policy issues and create an energising sense of common purpose. Every meeting welcomes news and ideas from anyone who is acting locally on climate change, and updates from action groups on topics such as the built environment, renewable energy and transport.
