Secretary of State for the Department of Energy and Climate Change at Winchester leaders' meeting on Climate Change
The High Sheriff of Hampshire Alan Lovell and Professor Joy Carter, Vice Chancellor of the University of Winchester together with Winchester Action on Climate Change (WinACC) hosted a high level climate change meeting at the University on 19 November.
The event was attended by 30 representatives from the local authorities and employers from across the Winchester district. It aimed to make progress towards a strategic response to climate change which will be an exemplar for the low carbon economy.
The Rt Honourable Chris Huhne, Secretary of State for the Department of Energy and Climate Change, was a keynote speaker. Antony Froggatt, lead author of the recent Lloyd’s of London – Chatham House white paper Sustainable Energy Security: Strategic Risks and Opportunities for Business, also spoke.
