All you need to get involved is enthusiasm, a bit of time and an interest in making some lifestyle changes. It costs nothing and will ultimately save you money from your energy bill.

Here's how you can get involved....

Each Cool Communities EcoGroup comprises five or six individuals from different households who meet four times, usually at someone's house, to work through the cool communities handbook and look at ways of reducing their carbon footprint in a fun and sociable environment.

More resources will be added to over time - so watch this space...

Local charity Winchester Action on Climate Change (WinACC) is giving residents of Winchester District another opportunity to get to know its “Cool Communities” programme at its open workshop at 10.30am on Saturday 6 August at the St Lawrence Parish Room, Colebrook Street, Winchester SO23 9LH.

WinACC can help people to help their organisations to cut their carbon footprint by setting up an eco-group.

After a pilot in three neighbourhoods of Winchester last year, local charity Winchester Action on Climate Change (WinACC) is launching “Cool Communities” for the whole of Winchester district at a workshop on the morning of Saturday 5 December 2015.

The then DECC Minister Greg Barker and local MP Steve Brine came to hear about Cool Communities from people who've been piloting this exciting new programme for WinACC in June 2014.

Cool Communities is a behavioural change programme which has been adapted from a successful programme created in the US by David Gershon.

There are no forthcoming events in this category at present. Please see the all events page for more.
