Winchester District emissions from travel are high. National figures from 2009 (the latest published at the time of writing, Feb 2012) show Winchester ranked 67 out of 448 local authorities on a scale from the highest transport carbon emission per head to the lowest transport carbon emission per head; 14% along the scale of rankings; 54% along the range of values.
