We are a group of engineers and scientists with either a background or interest in the environment.  Many of us have been actively involved with WInACC for a number of years.

Our role within WinACC is to:-

  • provide up-to-date information, advice and documentation on scientific and technological matters to WinACC
  • work with other WinACC groups in areas of mutual interest where STAP’s scientific and technical knowledge and opinion is useful
  • review information from WinACC such as presentations and web materials for scientific and technical accuracy
  • produce reports, both technical and for the layperson, on issues related to climate change and its causes.

The reports that have been produced by us cover a wide range of topics from the environmental impact of eating meat to wind energy.  We also form part of WinACC’s blogging team.

We meet at 7.30 pm on the second Tuesday of alternate months.  Contact stap@winacc.org.uk or read the panel’s terms of reference for more information.

The Science and Technology Advisory Panel is chaired by Brian Shorter.  If you want to know a bit more about us please click here for our mini CV’s.
