Riding Sunbeams – community energy back on track?

Riding Sunbeams is a visionary project to power global rail networks with solar PV. Hampshire has been chosen for the first pilot, potentially inspiring a revival of local community energy projects. Find out more at a public meeting organised by WinACC for Green Week.

Wednesday 2 October, meeting starts at 7.00pm, ends 8.30pm
Performance Hall, Winchester Discovery Centre, Jewry St, Winchester, SO23 8SB

Our speakers will explain how the railway through Winchester may soon draw on local solar energy, and then discuss what actions local and central government could take to stimulate community projects across the county.

Speakers

  • Ollie Pendered, Chief Executive Officer, Community Energy South
  • Martin Heath, Basingstoke Energy Services Co-op
  • Cllr Lynda Murphy, City Council Cabinet member with responsibility for the Environment and Transport

This is a free event, open to all. Please register via Eventbrite here if you would like to come.
