Would you like your business, organisation or event to be sustainable but don’t know where to start? WinACC can support you each step of the way.

We are a local environmental organisation that ‘thinks globally’ but ‘starts locally.’ The case studies below are just some examples of projects we have worked on over the last few years.

Food Partnerships

For a long time, we have recognised the high environmental impact of food both globally with climate change and the locally within the ecology of a place.

Movement Strategy

Hampshire County Council and Winchester City Council are developing a Movement Strategy which will shape how we get about the City for a generation.

Fuel Poverty Alleviation

Fuel poverty is a persistent problem in the UK, with a significant proportion of households struggling to pay their energy bills.

Home Energy Retrofit

Andy’s home is a three-bedroom Edwardian end-of-terrace – a fairly typical example for its era, which has been extended to the rear and renovated in more recent times.

Low Carbon Board

We promote low carbon waste management in the Winchester District by encouraging waste reduction, reuse and recycling in order to reduce the district’s greenhouse gas emissions.

Picture England Exhibition

At the core of our work is the vision to support our local habitat, both the built and natural environment. One of the ways we have worked to achieve this is through supporting partner organisations such as WWF.

SAVE Energy Management Project

The SAVE Project was funded by Ofgem, the energy industry regulator. The project was a collaboration between Scottish & Southern Energy Power Distribution, Neighbourhood Economics, the Environment Centre and WinACC.

The Great Waste

The Great Waste – a year-long joint project with Winchester City Council – showed people the value of waste and how to reduce the amount of waste they produced.

Winchester City Council Adviser

WinACC acts as an adviser to Winchester City Council (WCC) on sustainability matters. This role includes policy advice and support to members and officers to implement low carbon decisions and secretariat services for the Low Carbon Board.
